Killer Attack
Alright,
here’s the facts on Killer Attack:
First, here’s a little history:
It started way back in time, the origin of this game is unknown. It has been kept an XC/track tradition to
play this game during the off season.
Killer Attack has no meaning to it at all. Why it’s called killer attack, who knows, but the name has been
kept and shall be kept till the end of time.
Now here’s the game:
- Start off
by picking even teams, this isn’t a necessity, but who cares in the end
the team that’s supposed to win loses.
- After teams
are made, the bigger of the teams usually gets to make all the calls of
the game. This results in
arguments which gets the smaller team nowhere so there’s not point in
fighting it.
- The team
that walks receives the ball (team 1).
- The
opposing team (team 2) throws the ball off as far as possible. The person
with the best arm usually takes part in this part of the game.
- When the
team 1 gets the ball, they are not to drop it, because that will result in
team 2 getting the ball.
- Team 1 gets
3 steps before having to make a pass to another person. When throwing, there is to be no
hand-offs, and the ball shall not drop, or team 2 will receive possession of
the ball.
- Team 1 (if
they haven’t dropped the ball) must continue down field until they have
reached the endzone. A point is
scored if the ball has been thrown to another member of the team across
the line.
- If Team 2
manages to steal the ball while team 1 throws the ball, Team 2 gains possession
and must go to the opposite side of the field to score a point.
- The game
continues until the end score has been made (usually a game to 10 results)
This is a great game that has been kept in Sayville tradition. This game is sacred and for some reason any
team playing this game that’s not from Sayville seems to not do well during
there season. So I warn all from
playing this game if your are not from Sayville.
